Maureen Dowd and SpongeBob

I am totally confused by Maureen Dowd's latest column. She goes from SpongeBob to Bush to Iraq and I don't see the connection at all. Her inability to write a logical column is a real embarassment to my gender.

And yes, of course SpongeBob is gay, everyone has known that for years. That the Christian groups have only figured this out now shows how out of touch they are with popular culture.

I decided a long time ago that I was never going to allow myself to be embarrassed purely by association on the basis of gender.:)

I've just read ms Dowd's column (thanks for the link, btw), but I find it rather silly. Are you perhaps infected by governmentism that you don't understand it? Then let me explain: she compares mr Bush to The Sponge and mr Cheney as The Star (I'd rather view Patrick the way he is...). That's all there is too it. It's just another variant on the Bush-is-dumb-and-just-parroting-what-people-tell-him. I'm sure that's not true. Last but not least: the comparison is an insult to spongebob.

I agree with you on Maureen's coulmn yesterday. Not her best work, although I suspect I like a lot of what she write's more than you do. But Sponge Bob is gay! Now that IS news. You and James Dobson in bed together (so to speak). Imagine that.
